This orchard, planted in 1992 and equipped with a fertigation system, provided an ideal setting to evaluate the effectiveness of Speedfol™ foliar treatments on quality parameters such as fruit firmness, size, and weight.

According to Ignacio Sepúlveda, Speedfol™ Sales Manager at SQMC: “The objective was to determine the effectiveness of Speedfol™ strategies on fruit firmness, diameter, and size.”

Speedfol™ treatment strategy: From flowering to harvest

The application program began at full flowering stage and continued until harvest, integrating different products according to the phenological stage of the crop.

Trial results: Improvements in firmness, size, and weight

Speedfol™ treatments proved to be highly effective in improving key fruit quality parameters, compared to untreated areas.

Observed Benefits:

  • Greater fruit firmness, essential for post-harvest and export
  • Increased blueberry diameter
  • Higher fruit weight
  • Consistent quality over 10 harvests
  • No negative effects on other organoleptic characteristics

These improvements position Speedfol™ as an effective technical solution for blueberry growers seeking to raise the quality standards and competitiveness of their crops.
